The Age article - Comics Craze Means Big Bucks

From The Age, a Melbourne newspaper.

Phantom Pistols Replica

Before Batman, before The Shadow, before The Green Hornet, even before The Lone Ranger, the comics' first masked mystery-man hero had long since been striking fear into the dark hearts of the wicked… The Phantom! Own The Phantom's deadliest weapons! This pair of 1911 Colt Pistols are officially licensed, non-firing, full-metal guns and are functional in every way. (Except, of course, the shooting.) The magazine ejects, the barrel slides, and the trigger pulls. The pair of firearms are positioned on a custom hardwood black plaque, which you can hang on your wall or have standing freely on your desk. Limited edition of 250 sets worldwide.

Mandrake the Magician Statue

Houdini has nothing on Mandrake! The Mandrake the Magician statue stands approximately 14-inches tall, and is approximately 1:6 scale. The piece is hand-cast in high quality polystone and hand-painted to exacting standards. It is packaged in a durable foam interior and a beautiful full color package, and each piece is individually numbered and complete with a hand numbered certificate of authenticity.

First penned by Lee Falk in 1934, Mandrake the Magician is a beloved comic crime-fighter. With a wave of his enchanting hand, crooks and gangsters are hypnotized into submission. Believing the illusion that their weapons are deadly snakes and red-hot irons, criminals cast aside their defenses and are easily apprehended by the cunning magician and his allies. With his dapper mustache and top hat, Mandrake the Magician is an unforgettable classic comic hero.
